What we do
We focus on mechanisms of the generation and regeneration of blood cells (hematopoiesis) from the embryo to the aged organism. Our lab aims at understanding the amazing functional potential of hematopoietic stem cells in steady-state and under inflammatory conditions using self-generated state-of-the-art model organisms. We focus on hematopoiesis in mice and humans.
Leibniz Institute on Aging, Jena, Germany
ExpandHSCs, is a consortium funded by the Leibniz Collaborative Excellence program. It is coordinated by the Waskow lab and we join forces with the Ori lab, the Heidel lab, the Höfer lab and the Werner lab.
